KB Medical is a MedTech company providing cost-saving robotic systems for high precision surgery. The company possesses the necessary engineering and medical and bussiness competences for develophing medical devices and bringing them to the market. KB Medical focuses on providing complete surgery solutions, respecting today's medical regulation requirements.

History
KB Medical is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) and will come into being in 2012. Initial phase of development was conducted in Virtual Reality and Active Interfaces (VRAI) research group lead by Dr. Charles Baur within the Laboratory of Robotic Systems (LSRO) lead by prof. Reymond Clavel.
The company was initiated by two co-founders, all researches for several years in the underlying academic research program at the EPFL and University hospital CHUV, in Lausanne. After the enthusiastic acceptance of their research idea by hospital surgeons, they decided to transform a research project into marketable medical product.
